Ecobrasa is a Portuguese company established in 2002 and its focus in on the trade of Burning Product, in the Barbecues/Grilled meals and Home Heating area.

The company’s head offices are located in the north of the country, in the district of Maia and the packaging unit is located in the district of Leiria, in the Central Region. Thus the company has two logistic platforms with a total storage area exceeding 6000 square meters.

The trade of vegetable charcoal, the company’s Core Business, represents a significant turnover thanks to its entrepreneurial strategy based on the diversification of market segments and on the service of multibrand bagging.

Nowadays, with its strategy focused on the expansion of its clients’ network and on the offer of new products, Ecobrasa has a consolidated position in the national market and it is present in several distribution channels: Large-scale distribution, Wholesale, Retail and Catering.

Ecobrasa starts its activity in the north region of Portugal and its activity is based on the trade of vegetable coal for barbecues/grilled meals within the scope of domestic consumption.

2004

After having concluded that there was a huge potential consumption of this product in the restaurant area and the lack of national production with regard to quantity and quality, Ecobrasa started buying vegetable coal in the international market. The result of a long term vision based on a spirit of an open vision, trust and mutual respect, the company selected a set of producers in the Iberian Peninsula, Latin America, Africa and Asia which currently ensure the necessary quality standards and the supply of the correct quantities.

2008

By diversifying the offer and increasing its operating range, Ecobrasa cements its position in the Northern Region of the country and becomes the main supplier in the restaurants, hotel services and retailers’ market.

2010

Aware that the market is increasingly competitive and considering the increasing level of the consumers’ knowledge and requirements, Ecobrasa and its partners have adjusted to this reality. The company undertakes thorough screenings of different imported products and then redirects them to the different market segments where it is present, thus expanding its activity to the centre of the national territory.

2012

With a dynamic and proactive attitude, the company extends its activity to the whole national territory, developing measures for a long-lasting and consistent growth based on a commitment with thoroughness with regard to the quality of the products, bagging, logistic and after sales’ services.

2013

Taking into account the internationalization aim, Ecobrasa start exporting to some European countries.

2014

The bet on the reinforcement of the exportations leads to a quota of 15% of its turnover for the mentioned exports, being thus expected a continuous increase in the following years.

2015

Ecobrasa conquers the representation of the two main ecological charcoal briquettes worldwide, with the possibility of a successful path within the consumption of ecologically sustainable products.
